The National Police Index from the Invisible Institute provides state data regarding police employment history. The purpose of this data set is to track “wandering officers.” The data is sorted by state, and can then be filtered by name, date or agency. Each officer is listed with their UID, agency and start/end date. There are over 1 million officers catalogued in this system. One limitation of this data is only 24 states allow this information to be released.
